UpCell sells refurbished iPhones.
Refurbished means the product has been thoroughly inspected, repaired where necessary, and offered again for use. Refurbished devices do not compromise on quality and are also a sustainable choice.
Below you will find our warranty terms. Please read them carefully before using your device. We wish you lots of enjoyment with your purchase!
Warranty Period
The warranty period is six (6) months, starting from the date of purchase. During this period we will repair or replace the product free of charge, provided the defect falls within the warranty coverage.
If the device needs to be replaced, the original warranty period continues from the purchase date of the initial device. A replacement device does not start a new warranty term.
The warranty is personal to you as the purchaser and is non-transferable. In case of resale of the device, the warranty automatically expires.
Any included accessories are not covered by the six-month warranty, unless explicitly stated otherwise. Accessories may have a shorter warranty period.
Battery
The battery is covered by the same 6-month warranty as the device itself. We guarantee a minimum battery health of 85% upon delivery.
If the battery capacity drops below 70% within the warranty period, we will replace it free of charge.
Coverage
The warranty covers defects and manufacturing faults that occur during normal use. Examples include hardware issues such as malfunctioning touchscreen, buttons, battery, or camera.
Damage caused by improper use or external impact is not covered. This includes drop damage, impact damage, water damage, or other liquid damage. In such cases, we may still assist with repairs, but costs will be charged.
Due to their complexity, Touch ID and Face ID functionality are not covered by the warranty.
Software issues that are not directly related to a manufacturing defect are also excluded from warranty coverage. This includes problems caused by downloaded applications.
Water and Liquid Damage
Damage caused by water or other liquids is explicitly excluded from the warranty.
Many devices come with an IP rating (Ingress Protection), which indicates the degree of dust and moisture resistance. Regardless of the IP rating, both the manufacturer (Apple) and UpCell provide no warranty for water or liquid damage. Reasons: it cannot be determined how long or how deep a device has been submerged, and protective coatings wear over time, meaning refurbished devices may be less water-resistant than brand-new ones.
Liability
Always make a backup of your data. UpCell cannot be held liable for any data loss in connection with (warranty) repairs.
Procedure
If a defect occurs within the warranty period, please contact our customer service; they will process your claim.
You may be asked to send in the device (shipping costs at your own expense). We recommend:

Send via registered mail to avoid potential loss of the package.

Use the original or suitable packaging to prevent damage during transport.
After receiving the device, we will thoroughly inspect it and determine whether the defect is covered under warranty. If so, we will repair or replace the product free of charge. In case of replacement, you will receive a comparable refurbished model. If the defect is not covered by the warranty, we charge a €29 inspection fee (and any repair costs will be discussed with you in advance).
